For those who haven't watched this movie I warn you this is not some easy going Sleepless in Seattle type movie. Requiem for a Dream is about people getting involved with drugs, and the progression for some "young innocent fun" to the dark realities of heavy duty drug use. It's one of those movies that can really impact the viewer, and leaves a long lasting imprint. If you are looking for yet another Hollywood movie glamorizing drug use, this one isn't it. But if you are interested in a movie taking a harsh look into the darkest reaches of the drugs - this movie is brave enough to do just that.
